Taste Club Christmas 2017

Plan Your Perfect Christmas!

It’s beginning to look a lot like the perfect Christmas at the next Taste Club, taking place in the newly revamped MSL Ballsbridge Motors Mercedes-Benz Showroom  on the 23rd November.

Join us for this fantastical festive event with a difference – guests will be guided on how to plan a Christmas Day so perfect, even Santa will be jealous.

During the festive season we all deck the halls, but how do we bring that Christmas cheer to the Christmas Dinner table?  Well Sharon Hearne Smith, celebrity chef and food stylist will be on hand to provide a table decorating masterclass, sharing tips and tricks to ensure your table is looking regally resplendent.

As Nat King Cole sang, “Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe, help to make the season bright”.  Well we’ll have Michael Bermingham from The Market Butchers on hand to talk you through preparing a Christmas turkey so good its glistening – providing guidance and handy hints on how to cook it perfectly and also what alternative meats there are for Christmas dinner.

Next we’ll answer one of the other questions that stumps more people than Christmas board games, what is the perfect wine to serve on Christmas Day?  The team from O’Briens Wines will guide you on the do’s and don’ts when stocking up on your favourite festive tipples with their special seasonal wine tasting.

Including festive sweet treats from The Cupcake Bloke, a glass of prosecco on arrival and a Christmas gift bag from Santa’s helpers (aka the Team at Taste of Dublin) this is an evening sure to bring that Christmas feeling!

So be good (to yourself) for goodness sake and join us for the most Tasteful Christmas event yet.

On arrival enjoy a glass of prosecco, three mini Christmas masterclasses & sweet treats.  The gift bag received on arrival includes Champagne Flutes & tickets to the Taste of Dublin Launch (Overall value €70).

To mark the autumnal flavours, in October Taste Club partnered with Seusey Street to bring our attendees a very special seasonal menu which included a range of hearty and delicious flavours, including a game main course.

Attendees were also regaled with a fantastic conversation with John Healy, Restaurant Manager of Seusey Street and Maitre d’ of TV3’s ‘The Restaurant’.  John entertained everyone recapping his life in food as well as talking through his favourite dishes, his culinary travels and of course his work on TV.

An Oyster Journey with Cliff Townhouse and Urchin
Urchin - Oyster Journey

Marking the beginning of the Irish oyster season, Taste Club teamed up with Cliff Townhouse and Urchin, “the coolest new venue in Dublin” to bring attendees on a special oyster journey.

A special Taste Club oyster platter was prepared which included six varieties of oysters – served both fresh and grilled.  The event also celebrated Ireland’s rich heritage with regional flavours from across our diverse coastal landscape.  Head Chef Sean Smith was also on hand to deliver an Irish Oyster Masterclass and there was also a series of specially designed taster cocktails which rounded out the flavour and texture of the whole experience.

Barry’s Bar Tea-Inspired Cocktails at The Exchequer

For the first time ever, the exclusive Barry’s Bar served tea-inspired cocktails to a select number of lucky attendees at our last sold out event in The Exchequer Wine Bar, Ranelagh.

With refreshing twists on the classic Gold Blend, a tantalising Very Berry cocktail and a comforting Green Tea cocktail, this is certainly one you won’t want to miss at Taste of Dublin.
