L’Ecrivain ★

Opened in July 1989 by Derry & Sallyanne Clarke, l’Ecrivain stands on the site of two old Georgian Coach Houses/Mews in its own charming courtyard.

The menu is lauded for its simplicity which puts the emphasis on flavour and the best local ingredients – all given the French once over and turned into something that approaches divine dining.

Heron & Grey ★

Heron & Grey opened in 2016, and within 10 months it won a Michelin star. Praised for their homely, candlelit atmosphere in a bohemian suburban market – Heron & Grey’s food featured intensely flavoured dishes full of contrasting textures and tastes.

They have since closed their doors and opened again as ‘Liath’. Their new aim is to showcase Ireland’s special and unique ingredients from both its land and sea.
