Gavin McDonagh was the Chef/Patron of Brioche Restaurant in Ranelagh. Gavin has had an impressive career path including stints with Michelin Starred restaurants L’Ecrivan and Patrick Guilbaud here in Ireland; he is well traveled to having worked in France, Germany & the UK. His passion for fine French cuisine reveals itself in the care and attention to detail that his cuisine shows. His skill is rooted in classic French technique which he applies to the best of Irish artisan produce to create a modern Irish style of food.
For 15 years, Gavin was a member of the Irish culinary team, where he represented Ireland on the world stage, winning many competitions. Gavin also competed with Team Ireland at the world-renowned Bocuse D’Or and was Irish young chef of the year.
Gavin’s Philosophy is to focus on flavour and he is constantly pushing for excellence using the best of in-season Irish produce.
A man of few words and in an industry full of noise he prefers to let the fruit of his extensive labour do the talking.
